VIRTUAL 2021 PRESENTATION DAY – 17 OCTOBER 2021
PRESIDENT’S INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the MCFC Perpetual Awards Presentation Ceremony for the 2021 Season.
Welcome to our award recipients, special presenters and guests, and our Executive Committee.
Welcome to all our members and friends watching the live stream.
Unfortunately, Covid-19 ended our season early with the 2021 season being abandoned with the recent outbreak across greater Sydney.
Despite the shortened season we still managed to get on the field for another fun season of football.
The Club continued to grow this year with many new members registering for the season. This season we saw 570 MCFC registered players take to the field across 48 teams from U6 through to O45’s in both Mixed and female teams. Our football programs and teams spanned from community through to development, SAP League and Super League.
A great highlight and achievement this season was the launch of Northern Galaxy Football in partnership with BFC. This season MCFC and BFC partnered together to combine and develop female football in our communities. NGF saw 250 female players from across MCFC and BFC take to the field in 17 teams from G8 through to W35, with multiple teams in several age groups. This is the first time that MCFC and BFC have been able to field female teams in all age groups. The success of Northern Galaxy Football and our MCFC and BFC partnership has been widely recognised all the way up to the NSW Parliament.
I’d like to thank everyone involved in the Club and particularly those volunteers who coached or managed teams and those who took on roles in our committee. Volunteers are the life blood of any community club. I would particularly like to thank the MCFC Exec for their tireless work and passion for our club:
- Bruce Parker – SVP
- Michelle Waite – JVP
- Christine Freer – Secretary
- Barry – Thompson – Treasurer
- Kerrie Starbuck – Registrar
- Helen Swain – MPIO
I would also like to thank Brad Rayner, BFC President and the BFC Team for their partnership, passion, and drive in the creation of Northern Galaxy Football.
Today, with the easing of restrictions we are able to get together in this small outdoor gather to celebrate our perpetual award recipients.
These perpetual awards have a long history in our club and celebrate great achievements in our club both on field with our players and behind the scenes with our volunteers.
Congratulations to all those award recipients today and thank you for you hard work and dedication to our club.
