BIG WIN BY MOUNT COLAH U9 SAP SQUAD
It's the middle of the week and we are now on the downward run towards another weekend of football.
It's always good to hear some good news to set things in the right direction for the weekend.
Our U9 SAP Squad had a major success with their first game against a non-NSFA team last Sunday.
Mount Colah vs Central Coast United - 15-7
Thank you Robbie Hooker for sharing the game information and Raf Oort for the photos
Here's some photos of the team warming-up and the game. ...
NO MATTER HOW OLD YOU ARE, YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE GAME
Recently MCFC W35B was refereed by one of the best known referees in NSFA, Dougal Graham. Dougal is the oldest referee in NSW and is still refereeing in his eighties.
If you have been playing, coaching or managing a competition team for a few years there’s a good chance Dougal has refereed your game.
Dougal is pictured below (right) from the W35B game.
Pictured below (centre) the assistant referee helping with the game is in his seventies.
Pictured (left) with them both is Ethan. Dougal was impressed with Ethan’s enthusiasm during the game and is seen thanking and encouraging Ethan for his good work. Ethan has a special role in the game as “ball boy”. He helps collect the balls for both teams. Ethan has a special shirt which he wears with pride as he plays an important role in the game. Ethan is only eight but, like Dougal, he isn’t letting age get in the way of helping people enjoy football.
Thank you Mel Turnell for sharing.
Last year Football NSW made a video about Dougal – Oldest Referee in New South Wales.
